Special Reception with Wildlife Conservation Professionals from Africa

Events | International Visitor Leadership Program

Join the World Affairs Council, Oregon Wild and the Zimbabwe Artists Project for an exciting evening with Wildlife Conservation professionals from Africa!

In partnership with Oregon Wild and the Zimbabwe Artists Project, we will be welcoming 13 visitors from Africa traveling under the auspices of the International Visitor Leadership Program, the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional development program that aims to build mutual understanding between the U.S. and other nations. These visitors will be spending three weeks in the U.S. participating in site visits and professional meetings to examine the topic of "Wildlife Conservation: Anti-Poaching and Anti-Trafficking Efforts in the U.S." The group includes park rangers and other wildlife officials from Angola, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Mix and mingle with the visitors and other community members while enjoying light appetizers; a short program will include remarks from Oregon Wild about current wildlife conservation efforts locally, and several visitors will speak about poaching and wildlife conservation issues in Sub-Saharan Africa.
