Member Nights

To leaven our usual foreign policy fare, member nights focus on the cultural and recreational.  From programs about international film and food, to Tango or Salsa lessons, to the origins and diversity of chocolates, beer, or perfumes, member nights are a chance to have fun while learning something about world culture.

Recent programs have included:

An evening of Iranian food and film where we dined on some excellent Persian cuisine at a local restaurant, then viewed a comical movie on the status of women in Iran  ...

A report on the Council's trip to Cuba, including slides and mojitos! ...

A discussion of the international influences on design in Portland's Pearl district by Ziba Design's Creative Director Steve McCallion ... and

A chance to learn about and sample scents and fragrances from around the world from the only American on the International Perfume Council.

If it's international, and it sounds fun, this is where it will happen.
