"Colombia's Historic Moment" with Ambassador Juan Carlos Pinzón

Events | Headline and Cultural Forums

After four years of negotiations, the Colombian government and the FARC rebel group reached a peace agreement that, if ratified, will put an end to the 52 years of conflict that has taken the lives of 220,000 Colombians and displaced nearly seven million people.

Join the World Affairs Council in welcoming Juan Carlos Pinzón, Ambassador of Colombia to the U.S., for a discussion on what the peace agreement means for the future of Colombia and the new role of the country as a regional player. Ambassador Pinzón will also touch on the new framework of Paz Colombia, or Peace Colombia, the bilateral aid program with the U.S. Government. Join us for this unique and timely opportunity to learn in-depth about Colombia's historic moment.

Light lunch will be served.
