Paul Hawken: Project Drawdown
Events | Headline and Cultural Forums
One of the more influtential voices for sustainability, Paul Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, and author of Growing a Business, Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution, and Blessed Unrest, among other titles. Join World Affairs Council and our community partner SAGE for a rich conversation about Hawken's Project Drawdown, a nonprofit that is mapping and modeling 100 existing, substantive solutions to reverse climate change. What role could food waste, water conservation and passive energy play in staving climate change? What are accessible, practical and meaningful, real world solutions that everyone can deploy to lower green house gas emissions? What is the connection between climate, security, prosperity, and better health? Hawken will show how a wide variety of actors can advance these solutions – engaged citizens, students, teachers, farmers, business leaders, policymakers, and more.
The event is also co-sponsored by Portland State University's Institute for Sustainable Solutions. Promotional sponsors include Climate Solutions, Ecotrust, Literary Arts, Northwest Earth Institute, 350pdx, Oregon Environmental Council, World Affairs Council of Oregon, and Oregon Interfaith Power & Light, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon.
