C U Last Tuesday: Viewing and Discussion of “Fukushima, Mon Amour” (Grüße aus Fukushima)

Events | Young Professionals

On Tuesday 9/27, join the WAC Young Professionals at Cinema 21 to watch the last film of the 2016 Portland German Film Festival. We'll meet up outside the door at 6:30 pm to watch the U.S. premiere of Fukushima, Mon Amour (108m), a German film that tells the story of how a young German woman bonds with an elderly Japanese woman while touring the Fukushima region of Japan in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake. The film is in German with English subtitles.

Afterwards, we'll head over to McMenamins Blue Moon Tavern & Grill (432 NW 21st Avenue) to discuss the film and grab a few drinks. Snacks and a round of pitchers will be on us!

You will need to purchase your film ticket in advance. They are $10 and can be found here: http://www.portlandgermanfilmfestival.com/film/fukushima-mon-amour-gruse-aus-fukushima/

C.U.L.T., A text-speak acronym for "C U Last Tuesday," is a monthly program put on by the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council. The theme and format of the event changes from month to month, but what doesn't vary is the promise to entertain, educate, and broaden your horizons. Invite your friends and we'll see you on the last Tuesday of each month!
