Ross Island Kayaking Trip with International Visitors

The World Affairs Council is hosting a group of eight visitors from the Lower Mekong region in July. This unique program (made possible in part through the U.S. State Department-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program) brings together emerging leaders from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam to explore various aspects of Watershed Management.
This diverse multi-agency effort aims to positively contribute to the improvement of education, the environment, health, and infrastructure in the region. Their visit to Oregon is part of an association with the Lower Mekong Initiative established in 2009 by Secretary of State Clinton.
First-time kayakers and experienced paddlers alike will enjoy a unique perspective of Portland on this guided tour. Escape the office and interact with these fascinating visitors as they circumnavigate Ross Island and learn more about wildlife on the Willamette River.
