Iraqi Youth explore the Nature Conservancy's Kilichis Estuary Preserve

The Nature Conservancy, a non profit organization that takes on tough conservation issues such as climate change, water management and sustainable resource, played host to four students from the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program. Andrew Neal, manager of the International Youth Programs at the World Affairs Council of Oregon, stated that the visit gave Iraqi students a chance to learn about river and estuary health. More importantly, the visit helped student gain transferrable skills and knowledge that could be applied to resolving conservancy issues in wetlands in Southern Iraq.
