Delegation from Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia
Hosting Dates in Portland: April 27 – May 12, 2010
The Council is excited to announce that a Community Connections group of ten visitors from Russia will spend six days in California before coming to Oregon for 15 days for a program on Climate Change and Sustainability: U.S. experience in adaptation to the effects of climate change and mitigating measures in forestry sector. This group will need homestays in Portland from April 27 – May 12, 2010.
WE NEED HOMESTAYS!
Home stay hosts provide a spare room, breakfast and dinner, lunch on the weekend, transportation to and from the Council office, and an American home experience. We will provide lunches (M-F), cultural events, transportation to meetings and appointments, and full-day or half-day weekend activities for the delegates.
This is an opportunity you won't want to pass up! If you are new to hosting, this fascinating group would be a great introduction to hosting. If you have hosted before, consider hosting someone from our Community Connections delegation from Russia!
Hosting is a great way to share what you love about Portland and Oregon. We will work with you to arrange a hosting opportunity that fits your schedule and interest. Past hosts David Pyle and Sarah Newhall commented that they would recommend hosting because it, “gives us a chance to reciprocate the generosity/hospitality we receive when abroad and, of course, we get to deepen our understanding of what people are thinking in diverse locations around the world.”
Please feel free to pass this information on to your friends and neighbors - you might have even more fun when a friend is sharing the experience!
