WorldOregon presents the 2023 International Speaker Series
WorldOregon’s International Speaker Series, now in its 23rd season, returns to in-person presentations (with an at-home, streaming option) with the first two events of a four-part series at the stunning Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in Beaverton; the series will continue in fall 2023 with two more events, with dates and locations to be announced.
The 2023 International Speaker Series shines the spotlight on bold voices addressing human rights, political and cultural polarization, and movements toward a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous future.
Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu
(Race & Gender Justice Activist)
Tuesday, May 16, 7 pm PDT
The Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, the third child of Archbishop Desmond and Nomalizo Leah Tutu, has led a career shaped by the complexities and challenges of growing up black and female in apartheid South Africa —framing her life as an activist for human rights. Those experiences taught her that our whole human family loses when we accept situations of oppression.
