The impacts of the COVID-19 recession and the road to recovery differ widely across local economies. In response to this, the Brookings Institution developed the Metro Recovery Index, which tracks data across a variety of indicators to provide a picture of the impact of the crisis and the trajectory of recent change, for both large and midsized U.S. metropolitan areas—from the labor market, real estate market, to other areas of economic activity.
Join us for a presentation by Brookings Institution’s Alan Berube, Deputy Director, Metropolitan Policy Program, followed by a panel of local economic development leaders: Monique Claiborne, CEO, Greater Portland Inc and Kimberly Branam, Executive Director, Prosper Portland, who will explore what the recovery looks like for the Portland Metro area in comparison to other U.S. metro areas. Discussion moderated by Derrick Olsen, President, WorldOregon.
