WorldQuest for Grownups Returns for 2011

Events | Education

Join us for a raucous evening of food, drink, far-out costumes and international trivia. The WorldQuest Global Knowledge competition for grownups, in its second year, is the party of the year! Teams of eight show off their knowledge of global trivia on topics ranging from World Culture to People in the News, World History and Geography. In the grand tradition of space travel, there’s a mission of course! It’s an opportunity to learn about and support the Council’s efforts to educate Oregon kids about the world.

The World Affairs Council of Oregon’s Global Classroom reaches over 30,000 students annually. With a lending library of Culture Boxes on over 100 countries, international Speakers Bureau, the WorldQuest Global Knowledge Competition for high school students (now in its 10th year); international youth exchange, post secondary intern program and the Teach the World Educator Conference and Youth Forum Series… we connect Oregon students to the world!

Come test your knowledge of the world and support the Council’s youth education efforts. Here’s how to participate?

  1. Gather 7 of your smartest acquaintances. (or 7 of the least smart, but most fun – we don’t care!)
  2. Purchase your team table. You may sponsor it yourself, ask your company to do it, or split it 8 ways amongst your friends-contact us with any questions. (Single tickets are also available for purchase.)
  3. Pick out your team name and costume (optional.)
  4. Get together and study! (read the paper, divide the subject areas amongst your team, work out your team strategy any way you like — or just wing it.)

Our guarantee: It will be the most fun you ever had being, or trying to be smart!
