A Path Appears: Transforming Lives, Creating Opportunity

Events | Headline and Cultural Forums

The World Affairs Council is pleased to be a promotional cosponsor as Senior Advocates for Generational Equity (SAGE) welcomes Nicholas Kristof, two-time Pulitzer Prize winning author and New York Times columnist, back to Portland. Kristof takes us to the frontlines of social change, in villages, towns and cities across the world, sharing stories and profiles of impactful local and global initiatives that are making a difference and transforming lives. Kristof's talk coincides with the release of a new book, A Path Appears co-authored with Sheryl WuDunn, their follow-up to the critically acclaimed Half The Sky.

SAGE is a Portland-based nonprofit organization that inspires people over fifty to live a legacy of service and advocacy for younger and future generations. The Visiting SAGE speaker series inspires people to find new pathways to civic leadership and service. Learn more at www.wearesage.org.

The 2014 Visiting SAGE event is co-sponsored by Literary Arts, and the reception is sponsored by Beneficial State Bank. Promotional sponsors include Coalition for a Livable Future, Elders in Action, and World Affairs Council of Oregon. Venue sponsor is First Congregational United Church of Christ.
