Coffee + Climate Change SOLD OUT

Events | Headline and Cultural Forums

Climate change is threatening coffee in virtually every major coffee producing region of the world. Higher temperatures, intense rainfall coupled with long droughts, and more pests and disease are increasing. Coffee farmers are facing newer, bigger risks than in the past. But despite flashy headlines ("coffee catastrophe beckons," "coffee beans in danger of exctinction"), coffee drinkers haven't felt the impact of climate change yet. So what's really going on? How is climate change affecting coffee farmers? How will it affect coffee drinkers? Will we run out of coffee? Are we on the edge of coffee-pocalypse?

Join Hanna Neuschwander of World Coffee Research, a global coffee research nonprofit that studies coffee and climate change, for a talk about what we know, what we don't know, and what's being done.
