C U Last Tuesday: Explore the Portland Mercado

Events | Young Professionals

Join the World Affairs Council's Young Professionals this Tuesday as we explore the Portland Mercado, the first Latino public market in Portland! The Portland Mercado is a community economic development initiative by the regional Latino community and Hacienda CDC. The development of the Portland Mercado was inspired by entrepreneurship, Latino cultural history and heritage, traditional and local foods, social enterprise, vibrant cultures, and public markets throughout the world.

Patrik McDade, owner of the intercultural communication services company, People-Places-Things will host a tour of the Mercado followed by an information session. We will gather at Barrio (there will be signs for the World Affairs Council) at 6:30pm to begin the tour. Light appetizers and drinks will be provided by the World Affairs Council at Barrio directly following the tour.

CULT, A text-speak acronym for "C U Last Tuesday", is a new, monthly program put on by the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council. The content and format of the event changes from month to month, but what doesn't vary is the promise to entertain, educate and broaden your horizons. So, invite your friends and we will see you on the last Tuesday of every month.
