Ever considered yourself a Citizen Diplomat? Here is your opportunity to be one!

Join the Young Professionals group of the World Affairs Council of Oregon for an evening of socializing and light appetizers with international visitor Mr. Thomas Woodroofe.  Mr. Woodroofe is visiting from Australia through the International Visitor Leadership Program, a U.S. Department of State sponsored professional development program that works to create mutual understanding between citizens of the U.S. and other nations.

At the age of 22, Mr. Woodroofe is already an accomplished freelance journalist and foreign affairs analyst.  He founded Left Right Think-Tank, for which he was recognized in 2009 as Young Victorian of the Year.  In 2011 he went on to found Global Voices, an organization that works to engage young people in public policy and promote participation in international diplomacy.  Mr. Woodroofe is interested in a variety of topics, including foreign, security and defense policy issues with a particular focus on U.S. engagement in the Asia-Pacific region.  He is also interested in youth and citizen diplomacy projects and the emergence of social media in journalism and advocacy.

Don’t miss this opportunity to acquaint and socialize with Mr. Woodroofe and other Portlanders who share your passion for all things international!
