Face-to-Face with Jennifer Hatton

Events | Young Professionals

Join the Young Professionals for this special Face-to-Face conversation with Jennifer Hatton. Jennifer works for African Road, an NGO that supports communities in Rwanda formed by widows and orphans and helps them move out of poverty. Jennifer will have just returned from Rwanda before the event, so she will have a lot to talk about!

Prior to her current role, Jennifer served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda in the Education program. During her time as a PCV, she lived in a rural Rwandan village, started a microfinance project, facilitated a community literacy program, organized youth camps, assisted students in applying and getting accepted to North American universities, and taught English. Peace Corps' mission is to provide host countries with trained volunteers to support community development and foster cross-cultural exchange.

Come network and learn with other Young Professionals about developing careers in international affairs, the Peace Corps, African politics, and daily life in Rwanda!

Note on room location: The Barrel Room can tricky to find. When you arrive, ask one of the bartenders where the Barrel Room is and they will direct you (it’s through the brewing room).

Face-to-Face events provide unique opportunities for Young Professionals to engage in an informal, round-table discussion with visiting emerging leaders from abroad or individuals in our community with unique international experience. These cross-cultural and lively exchanges examine topics such as: leadership and ethics, culture and society, government and foreign policy and many others.
