Meal Hosting

Hosted dinners often make the biggest impact on the international visitors because they create opportunities for one-on-one conversation and a deeper appreciation for cultural commonalities. Whether a summer barbecue, a dinner shared with friends, or a simple family supper, these visits often lead to long-term friendships and offer a welcoming window for visitors during their time in the U.S. We offer opportunities to host anywhere from two visitors to a whole group. Meals usually take place in the evening and last two to four hours.

Upcoming meal hosting opportunities:

  • Saturday, August 31: Dinner hosting for Japanese government officials. 2 - 4 visitors per host family. Seeking hosts with at least one person comfortable in Japanese conversation. Transportation will be provided by WorldOregon.

  • Saturday, September 14 or Sunday, September 15: Dinner hosting for journalists from India. 3 visitors per family, plus one interpreter. Transportation provided by host.
