Ms. Hung Huang is the CEO of China Interactive Media Group (CIMG), which publishes ILOOK magazine, which is committed to the promotion of the arts and cultural industry. Ms. Hung runs a popular blog in China and a Chinese micro-blog has contains more than six million fans.
Hung is a Beijing native who was educated in the United States. She went to junior high school at the ‘Little Red School House’ in New York City and graduated from Vassar College in 1984. Prior to her job at CIMG, Huang was an investment consultant and commodities trader.
Hung published the best-selling autobiography My Abnormal Life as a Publisher and starred in the independent film Perpetual Motion, which made its international debut at the Venice Film Festival in 2005. In 2011, Time magazine selected Hung as one of the world’s 100 most influential people.
In 2010, Hung opened the design concept store Brand New China (BNC) to provide consumers direct access to the work of Chinese designers. Currently, more than 150 designers have signed with BNC and the work of more than 100 designers are sold in store, including apparel, home, accessories, jewelry, and more.
