One of the leading voices in the blogosphere of alternative economics and financial reformists, Mr. Auerback has been praised for his “sharp Swiftian wit and a knack for cut-to-the-chase concision on complex financial issues”. He is a regular writer for the Roosevelt Institute’s New Deal 2.0, commentator for Alexander Cockburn’s Counterpunch, guest contributor to New Economic Perspectives, as well as a frequent commentator on Fox News, Bloomberg News, and the Huffington Post.
Mr. Auerback currently serves as consulting strategist for RAB Capital and economic consultant to PIMCO, the world’s largest bond fund management group. In his 28 years in the investment business, he has spent 12 years in Asia as investment manager for GT Management; run the emerging markets hedge fund for Tideman Investment in New York; served as international economics strategist for Veneroso Associates, and managed the Prudent Global Fixed Income Fund for David W. Tice & Associates. Mr. Auerback graduated magna cum laude in English and philosophy from Queen’s University in 1981 and received a law degree from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University.
