The Youth Ambassadors Program is a 3-week leadership exchange abroad for U.S. teenagers ages 15-17 and adult mentors.
The program provides full scholarships for 120 students and adult mentors to take part in one of five exchange programs to countries in Central and South America.
Sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, the program aims to develop a cadre of young adults in the United States who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills.
