“It's key and crucial that we keep ourselves united.”—Vicente Fox
.
Recently politics and relations between the U.S. and Mexico have been on the fence, so to speak. So many questions abound. How do we address the realities of globalization without resorting to nationalism? Will the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement truly address the needs of the 21st-century economy? How do we keep our shared history of bilateral cooperation around trade and economics, security, entrepreneurship and innovation, and education and cultural exchange at the forefront against a rising rhetoric suspicious of free trade and immigration? What is the way forward?
Join us for a rare and special talk on these and other issues with former president of Mexico Vicente Fox. A visionary leader with a deep understanding of the economic and social challenges facing Latin America, President Vicente Fox is one of the world’s most important voices on the contemporary geopolitical landscape and the role of business in the developing world. Fox served as president of Mexico from 2000 to 2006—his term marking the end of 71 years of uninterrupted rule by the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). A charismatic reformer, he is credited as playing a vital role in Mexico’s democratization, and with strengthening the country’s economy.
Longtime members may recall Fox last spoke in Portland in 2007 as part of our International Speaker Series - we hope you won’t miss this opportunity to hear this outspoken world leader’s candid thoughts on how the world has changed and where he sees it going.
Tickets for this event are limited to WorldOregon members exclusively.
