How much do you know about the world? Do you know how many women are currently heads of state globally? What is the longest place-name on earth and where it is? (Hint: it's 85-letters in length)? In which country is Bobotie, a dish of minced meat, spices and dried fruit with a baked-egg topping, the national dish? Do you have a healthy sense of competition and a low-level desire for global dominance? Then WorldOregon’s WideWorld Virtual Trivia is your jam! If you know the answers—or even if you don't—join the WorldOregon's Young Professionals and make new friends with this fun, happy-hour distraction, via Zoom.

How it works:

  • When you register for the event you’ll get a link to participate.
  • WorldOregon host will assign you to a virtual team of 3–4 players in a Zoom breakout room.
  • Teams will answer questions to 4 rounds of international trivia —everything from pop culture to global food to geography and current events.
  • Winning team will receive a copy of Samantha Power’s bookEducation of An Idealist; runner-up will receive free tickets to Cass R. Sunstein’s talkLiars: Falsehoods and Free Speech in an Age of Deceptionon April 15 at 6 pm.

 

This event is free to participate in; registration required.

The WorldOregon Young Professionals is a vibrant community of early- to mid-career Oregonians who are passionate about international issues. Programs and events are open to anyone and provide a wide range of social, cultural, and educational activities.
