Join the Young Professionals of WorldOregon for our February tradition of enjoying a feature of the Portland International Film Festival. Since 1977, the Portland International Film Festival (PIFF) has been the Northwest Film Center’s annual showcase of new world cinema. Over two weeks in February, through the exhibition of nearly 90 feature films and 40+ short films, PIFF audiences across the City of Portland travel the globe in theater seats through our celebration of the world’s filmmakers and cinephiles.
This year, we'll start out at Barlow to get to know each other and chat about the Festival. Then, we'll head to the Regal Fox Tower to see Claire's Camera, a South Korean/French film directed by Hong Sang-soo. In it, Manhee plays a film sales agent whose life takes a turn when she runs into Claire (Huppert), a teacher who loves taking photographs of everyone she meets with her Polaroid camera. Claire’s photos kick-start a chain of events fueled by chance, alcohol, and wry humor.
Schedule of events:
7:00PM - Meet at Barlow for some snacks and drinks before the show (first round of snacks on us!)
8:15PM - Walk to the Regal Fox Tower Stadium 10
8:30PM - Watch the show!
Please RSVP to the right so we know to expect you, but don't forget to buy your movie ticket too (we recommend purchasing in advance in case they sell out).
C.U.L.T., A text-speak acronym for "C U Last Tuesday", is a monthly program put on by the Young Professionals of WorldOregon. The theme and format of the event changes from month to month, but what doesn't vary is the promise to entertain, educate, and broaden your horizons. Invite your friends and we'll see you on the last Tuesday of each month!
