The WorldOregon Young Professionals (YP) program is a branch of WorldOregon’s Global Conversations public programs aimed at engaging early- to mid-career professionals who share an interest in learning about the world, traveling or working abroad, networking with visionary leaders, and expanding their knowledge of global affairs. The Young Professionals Steering Committee (YP Committee) coordinates and advises on events and activities, including discussion groups, trivia nights, guest presenters, international visitor receptions, and more in an effort to connect Oregon’s diverse and globally minded community with each other and the world. The YP Committee is recruiting collaborative members with skills to offer in the areas of event coordination, social media/marketing, photography, professional partnerships, facilitation, program development, and more.

The Development department at WorldOregon is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of membership and donor relations and is ideal for someone looking to gain real world experience in non-profit management. In addition to becoming familiar with non-profit membership processes, the intern will have opportunities to develop their research, writing, and event planning skills. This intern will primarily report to the Development Manager.

The International Visitor Program (IVP) team is responsible for approximately 500 international visitors each year participating in short-term professional study programs. The intern will have the opportunity to become familiar with an aspect of American foreign policy, which promotes citizen diplomacy thorough international friendship and understanding. S/he will be encouraged to escort visitors to appointments and attend professional meetings and will have an opportunity to meet WorldOregon staff working in additional areas that may be of particular interest to the intern.
